Weather

Looks like a it will be wet for the game out west between West Coast and Geelong, so monitor the conditions there and if the rain is coming in reconsider outside players and focus on the rucks and inside midfielders.

While there is some rain expected in Sydney it is unlikely to impact the game and conditions are perfect in Adelaide for that matchup.

Where to Attack?

Let's take a closer look at our AFL Data Tools to find any trends that might help us construct winning lineups on Draftstars for this match.

There is a pretty obvious stack target on this slate. Despite the game being in Western Australia, Geelong are still over 6 goal favourites in the matchup as the Eagles sit on one win for the season and dead last on the ladder. As a result it is no surprise to see that West Coast have been giving up a stack of fantasy points to midfielders and forwards this season. They have given up the second most points through the middle and the most points in the league up forward.

If you are focusing on Geelong stacks, remember to consider the weather, but I would be playing an Eagle back or two with the Geelong stacks as the ball tends to be down there a lot this year.

Game Script – Geelong mids and forwards

VALUE PLAYS

Cooper Stephens (DS $6,000)

Cooper Stephens is still sitting at the minimum price point and in three of his four games where he played he posted 53, 67 and 49. These are all around the return you will need from a minimum priced player, but he now goes into the best matchup of the season against West Coast who have given up the third most points through the midfield. Cooper is more of an inside player as well so if the conditions are wet that should suit his game style.

Tanner Bruhn (DS $7,970)

Bruhn has been getting plenty of opportunity through the middle this year and last week showed the upside of that role with a massive 102 point performance. This week is against much more difficult opposition but Bruhn has shown he can return value even as his price point grows with two 75+ point games in addition to his 102 point outburst from his last five games.

MID-PRICED PLAYS

Mitch Duncan (DS $12,950)

Duncan draws an elite matchup against West Coast as has already been discussed. He showed last game he still has the upside posting a 115 point game and I love picking him up at this $12-13k price range. West Coast give up uncontested and contested possessions, both of which should suit Duncan.

Bailey Williams (DS $9,350)

Williams has featured in a new role up on the wing for the Bulldogs in recent weeks and this has resulted in an increase to his fantasy output with three straight scores of 91, 88 and 84. That is sufficient value return at this mid range price points for all game formats and he holds the potential for even bigger ceiling games.

PREMIUM PLAYS

Tim English (DS $13,710)

Tim English has been absolute fantasy monster this season averaging 112 points per game, while somehow keeping his fantasy price under $14k. That screams automatic play just by itself. But even better he has an elite matchup against the Giants who have been giving up the fourth most points in the league to the oppositions number one ruck this season at 87 points per game. Lock and load play.
