A fantastic 10 game early Sunday slate in the NFL this weekend is headlined by a monster clash between the Los Angeles Rams and the New Orleans Saints from 8.25am (Monday AEDT). DraftKings are once again offering an absurd prize-pool for their major Sunday slate contest with $3.25 million up for grabs.

We provide our best daily fantasy tips for the day's action below.

NFL Week 9 Sunday Fantasy Tips

Quarterback – Jared Goff (LA Rams) Cam Newton (Carolina)

Jared Goff is in control of the most dynamic offence in the league right now. While a lot of their production comes from all-pro running back Todd Gurley, Goff has still been fantastic this season, averaging over 22 fantasy points per game. Was dominant last weekend against Green Bay with 295 yards, 3 touchdowns and 26.5 points and has a great matchup this week against the Saints, who allow the most fantasy points to quarterbacks of any team in the NFL.

Cam Newton comes up against the Buccaneers this weekend, who we have been a great team to bet against this season. They allow the second most passing yards per game in the NFL at 318.4 and have allowed more passing touchdowns (20) than any other team in the NFL. Cam Newton has racked up back to back games of at least 25 points in which he has thrown 2 touchdowns in each.

Running Back – Kareem Hunt (Kansas City) Adrian Peterson (Washington)

Kareem Hunt should see plenty of touches this weekend as the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have allowed the fifth most rushing yards per game in the NFL so far this season and have let in 12 rushing TD’s, which is tied with Arizona for the most in the league. Hunt had just 17 points last weekend but is coming off two monster 30+ point games in his previous two games that saw him rack up four TD’s across the two games.

Adrian Peterson will be the main beneficiary of an injury to Redskins running back Chris Thompson this weekend. With Thompson playing limited snaps in last week’s game due to injury, Peterson racked up 149 yards on 26 carries and added a rushing and a receiving touchdown for a monster 30.6-point game. Should go well against the Falcons who allow the most fantasy points to running backs of any team in the league.

Wide Receiver – Adam Thielen (LA Chargers) Brandin Cooks (LA Rams)

Hard to faulter what Chargers receiver Adam Thielen has been doing so far this season. In 8 games he has just one score of under 20 fantasy points and that came all the way back in Week 1 of the season. He averages a whopping 28.4 fantasy points per game and while he has a relatively tough matchup against the Detriot Lions defence this week, he has already made much better defences look ordinary this season. The obvious pick if you have money for a premium receiver this weekend.

Our value pick this weekend is Brandin Cooks, who should see plenty of opportunity as the LA Rams and Jared Goff look to air the ball out against the poor New Orleans pass defence. Cooks was dominant in the early parts of his first season for the Rams, racking up four scores of 14+ in his first four games but has dropped away over the last few weeks. Did bounce back in Week 7, however, with a 64 yard game including a touchdown for 17.1 points.

Tight End & D/ST - Greg Olsen (Carolina), Chicago Bears

Olsen returned from injury in Week six and has slowly looked more comfortable in the Carolina offence. His first two games back from injury both resulted in scores of just over 8 fantasy points while his third game back, last weekend against the Ravens, saw him rack up 56 yards including a touchdown for 15.6 points. Has a fantastic matchup against the Buccaneers this weekend who give up the third most points to tight ends in the league.

The Bufallo Bills are an easy choice to bet against in terms of selecting a defence week by week. They have put up the fewest points per game in the league at just 10.9 this season and were able to score just 6 against the Patriots last week. They come up against one of the premier scoring fantasy defences in the league this weekend in the Chicago Bears, led by Khalil Mack, who should have their way with them.
