Weather

Melbourne – Sunny, 17 degrees.

Adelaide – Shower or two, 19 degrees.

None of Sunday’s three games are likely to be rain affected, which is great news for fantasy players!

Where To Attack?

There are a couple of key avenues to attack on this slate.

Gold Coast leak fantasy points right across the ground, giving up the fifth most total points in the competition. This trend is especially prevalent in losses, so with Richmond heading into this clash favourites, Tigers stacks could be a popular avenue to glory on this slate.

While the Suns are an easy target in the midfield, there are other viable options in this area. Gold Coast’s opponents, Richmond, are relatively generous to opposition mids themselves, and key ball winner Dion Prestia is missing for this game. Furthermore, Touk Miller is out injured for the Suns, so there will be more points to go around elsewhere. Finally, Essendon have given up the second most points to onballers, so Geelong’s centre crew could have a great day at the MCG.

Game Script – Richmond, Geelong mids

VALUE PLAYS

Ivan Soldo (DS $7,710)Solo ruck for sub $8k? Yes please. Soldo will make his return at Richmond’s leading ruckman on Sunday after a long injury layoff. Sure, he isn’t going to score you 100, but as a salary saver he should be good for 60-80 given that he has previously averaged around this mark playing primarily as second fiddle to Nankervis.

Luke Pedlar (DS $6,000) has been priced at the minimum $6k, despite a strong start to his debut season. The mature aged recruit has averaged 61 in his first five games with three scores of 67+ - a fantastic return equating to over 10x value. Collingwood are a tough matchup for a medium sized forward, but I’m backing Pedlar to be around the 60 mark again on Sunday.

MID PRICED PLAYS

Tom Hawkins (DS $10,930) has been in fine touch over the last few weeks, kicking bags of goals and scoring well from a fantasy perspective. Geelong should win this game and Hawkins will be well serviced down forward, setting him up for a value DFS return. The H2H history supports this – Hawkins has scored 84+ in each of his last seven matches against the Bombers.

PREMIUM PLAYS

Tim Taranto (DS $15,790) scored a season-high 138 DFS points last week, thriving against Melbourne’s A-grade midfield. This week, Taranto gets a far softer matchup against the Suns. A safe premium play, Richmond’s premier midfielder has not scored below 108 so far this season, with an average of 117.

Jordan Dawson (DS $15,530) has fired since moving into a full-time midfield role, pumping out three 100+ scores. The Adelaide skipper will be needed in the guts again on Sunday, and with Rory Laird in some doubt, Dawson could well become the main man. As such, recent scores of 122 and 133 provide great insight into what we can expect this weekend.
