Weather

Adelaide – Sunny, 23 degrees.

Canberra – Mostly sunny, 21 degrees.

Melbourne – Partly cloudy, 21 degrees.

All three games are likely to be unimpacted by adverse weather conditions this week, which bodes well for the ease of selecting our DFS line-ups.

Where to Attack?

There are a couple of key avenues to attack on this slate.

AFL Data Tools

West Coast have struggled badly in their last few games, partly due to a lengthy injury list, and they are likely to cop another lesson at the hands of Port Adelaide on Saturday. Given their woes against opposition forwards, the Eagles look like a great team to target on this line this week.

AFL Data Tools

The Eagles have also been leaky to rucks, conceding nearly 20 points over league average. Despite this, Port Adelaide haven’t been great either and Scott Lycett has been dropped for this week’s game. Nevertheless, this game is likely to provide the most value on the ruck line.

Game Script – Port Adelaide stacks

VALUE PLAYS

Brynn Teakle (DS $6,570) returns to the Port side with a favourable matchup looming against Bailey J Williams. As previously mentioned, the Eagles concede the most points in the league to opposition ruckmen, so it’s hard to see Teakle missing value at his bargain basement price point.

Harry Rowston (DS $6,000) hasn’t set the world on fire in his first few games, but there have been enough positive signs. The young midfielder scored 31 points in a quarter as the sub this week and I believe he will inherit some of the CBAs left by the suspended Tom Green. Whilst this isn’t an easy matchup, the role is right for Rowston to provide value.

MID-PRICED PLAYS

Jeremy Finlayson (DS $10,510) should benefit from two data trends this week, given that the Eagles struggle against rucks and key forwards. Finlayson should kick at least a couple of goals in a dominant Power win, and there are also points on offer in the ruck where he will be too good for West Coast’s second stringer. Finlayson already has one 100+ score to his name this season, so the precedent is there.

PREMIUM PLAYS

Zak Butters (DS $13,830) has been afforded more CBAs in the last fortnight, averaging over 60%, and he took advantage of that to score 110 against the Dogs last week. Port should smash West Coast off the park on Saturday, and Butters is the type of player who will be involved heavily both in the midfield and forward.

Lachie Neale (DS $15,310) was back at his best last week, scoring 116 DFS points from 37 touches against North Melbourne. While he has been down on form, the Brownlow medallist should enjoy playing against a weakened GWS midfield this week, and he scored 143 against this opposition in Round 11 last year.
