Where To Attack?

AFL data tools

The Bulldogs look like the more exploitable team on this slate, as they have conceded the fifth most fantasy points on average. In contrast, Fremantle have given up 20 points less than average per game, so Dockers stacks could be an option here, especially if you think they will win.

In particular, the Dogs are leaky to defenders and have been for a number of years. Opposition teams love to possess the ball in the backline against the Bulldogs, so the Fremantle premium backs are a strong chance to score well.

Game Script – Fremantle backs

VALUE PLAYS

Bailey Banfield (DS $6,000) has consistently returned 9-10x value over the last few weeks, with scores of 66, 54 and 58. Playing as a small forward, there is no reason that Banfield can’t reach that mark again given that the Dockers are favourites for this clash.

Corey Wagner (DS $7,250) returned to the AFL arena with a solid performance last week, scoring 54 points against the Suns. The mature aged recruit is in a fantastic spot to score well this week against the Bulldogs, who leak points to backs, so I think this is a safe value play.

MID PRICED PLAYS

Luke Jackson (DS $10,880) has built into his first season at the Dockers well, averaging 72 points over the first five weeks. The Bulldogs have traditionally struggled against key forwards and Jackson is in goalkicking form, so I predict him to clear 80 this week, which is a great score at this price on a single game slate.

PREMIUM PLAYS

Caleb Serong (DS $16,060) has been the shining light for Fremantle so far this season. Averaging 111 DFS points, Serong is a rolled gold premium option, and he has great history against the Dogs (122 last time they played).

Luke Ryan (DS $14,590) is likely to be the main beneficiary of the data trends this week. The Dogs give away plenty of points to backs and Ryan has reached 100 in his last three outings against them, including a 151 last time they met. With two 100+ scores to his name this year, expect Ryan to clear three figures again this week.
