Where To Attack?

AFL Data Tools

The Western Bulldogs continue to be a great team to stack up backs against, which is a trend that has continued on from last season. During the second half of the season the Bulldogs have been giving up an avalanche of points to the defenders conceding the most in the league of the last five rounds.

AFL Data Tools
Fremantle stand out as the team to attack through the midfield on this slate. The Dockers have given up the third most points in the league this season and that has me absolutely licking my chops for the Cats stacks down in Geelong.

Game Script – GWS backs, Geelong midfielders and forwards

VALUE PLAYS

Callum Ah Chee ($8,600) / Cam Rayner ($8,930)

Brisbane present a couple of value options on this slate with Callum Ah Chee going to half back and coming up with a season high 108 fantasy points last week. This week they have a favourable matchup against the Suns who have given up above average fantasy points this year. The other player worth considering is Cam Rayner who wil potentially be given greater midfield opportunity with Ashcroft out and Jarryd Lyons not getting a call up to replace him.

MID PRICED PLAYS

Jeremy Cameron ($11,990) should be ready to reclaim his early season form after a few weeks since his injury. This is an elite matchup for Geelong forwards with the game being played down at their home ground and the Cats being over 47 point favourites. The Dockers have given up above average fantasy points to forwards this season.

Andrew Philips ($9,970) will get the sole ruck role against the Swans who have given up 95 points per game to the opposition’s number one ruckman this season. Even better, this week it is against Hayden McLean who has been conceding big scores since taking over as the number one ruck. Phillips is nicely priced and has shown 97 point upside when playing as the number ruck this season.

PREMIUM PLAYS

Mitch Duncan ($13,830) absolutely loves playing down at Geelong posting scores of 85, 128 and 120 from his last three games at GHMBA Stadium. His price has come down nicely to under $14k and a ceiling game in the 120+ range would be a great return at this price point. As noted above this is a positive matchup for players going through the midfield against Dockers, and the Cats a massive favourites in the game.

Lachie Whitfield ($14,120) has an elite matchup against the Western Bulldogs. Playing off half back with the Bulldogs conceding the second most points in the league to defenders in 2023, Whitfield will be my go to in my GWS back stacks. He is coming off back to back 100+ point games and has shown a ceiling of 120 points this season.
