Weather

Brisbane – Sunny, 21 degrees.

Sydney – Becoming windy. Sunny. 20 degrees.

Melbourne – Showers. Windy. 14 degrees.

Adelaide – Showers. Wind easing. 15 degrees.

A mix of conditions is likely across the country on Saturday, with Brisbane presenting the best weather for footy. Rain in Melbourne and Adelaide should make you think twice about rostering key position players and outside runners.

Where To Attack?

Brisbane players will be in high demand today as they set themselves to feast on West Coast. The Eagles are the worst team in the competition and as such they concede plenty of fantasy points right across the park, and the Lions are well known for beating up on lesser opponents on their home turf.

While DFS players will look to roster Brisbane midfielders and forwards, Melbourne defenders should be considered as they will see a boost playing against the leaky Saints. St Kilda concede over seven points more than any other team to defenders on average, and it’s hard to see that trend reversing anytime soon.

Game Script – Brisbane stacks

VALUE PLAYS

Jack Gunston (DS $7,820) returns to the Brisbane side after a self-directed conditioning block, so he should be fit and ready to fire against the woeful Eagles. Gunston has struggled this season, but he did put up a 100-point ceiling game against the Suns in May and West Coast have given up huge scores to key forwards in 2023.

James Jordon (DS $7,180)Jordon has rarely been fully utilised by Melbourne this year, appearing several times as the substitute. For that reason his DFS price tag has hit the floor, and he presents excellent value in a game where he will play full minutes against a side that leaks points to midfielders.

MID PRICED PLAYS

Charlie Cameron (DS $10,140) is one of several Brisbane forwards who should produce a ceiling score today. The Lions livewire has averaged just 63 points so far this year, but he has shown the ability to hit three figures in the past, which is a great return at this price point.

PREMIUM PLAYS

Lachie Neale (DS $16,540) The Brisbane theme continues with Neale, who is primed for a massive outing on Saturday. The Brownlow medallist loves playing at home, with recent scores of 127, 100, 117 and 103 at the GABBA. Furthermore, West Coast are the easiest matchup for opposition midfielders. Lock and load.

Zak Butters (DS $15,870) Like Neale, Butters saves his best work for home games, with scores of 148 and 129 in the last couple of months at Adelaide Oval. The Suns are a decent matchup for onballers, and Butters is earning a reputation as a wet weather specialist, so the forecast wont bother him one bit.
