Weather
Brisbane – Sunny, 22 degrees.
Absolutely perfect conditions in Brisbane this Friday night for football. Nothing that will impact fantasy scoring. Let’s play!
Where To Attack?
Sydney have given up the sixth most points in the game to forwards this season, which is no surprise considering they are currently sitting 13th on the ladder. This is an obvious matchup to stack up the Lions forwards as they are over 30 point favourites at home against the Swans.
Game Script – Brisbane midfielders/forwards
VALUE PLAYS
Angus Sheldrick ($8,220) was given the first opportunity of his career playing at his natural position of inside midfielder attending 44% of the Swans center bounces last week, his highest ever. As a result he returned 79 fantasy points while playing less than 60% game time. Now there is some risk in backing up with this play again as the Swans will see Luke Parker return and he may push Sheldrick out of the middle, but he may be able to fill a role with Isaac Heeney missing. If you wanted to move away from the ownership there are other value options such as Jaspar Fletcher who is debuting for the Lions.
Deven Robertson ($9,210) was given plenty of opportunity up the ground on the wing last week and 67 fantasy points. His price has bumped up this week and he will need a greater return to hit value. But with Hugh Mcluggage out of the Lions team this week there is plenty of opportunity opening up on the wing. As we saw to end last season, Robertson was more than capable of 90+ point games and given the Lions are expected to win this game comfortably, I love going back to him again this week for an improved fantasy score.
MID PRICED PLAYS
Keidan Coleman ($9,740) comes back into the side after being the sub last week. Daniel Rich has been dropped, which leaves Coleman as the main outlet exiting the back line. Coleman showed last year that he was capable of big fantasy games, particularly with Rich out of the lineup. While this season hasn’t been the best season for Coleman, I am backing him in this matchup after being dropped to lift his game significantly.
Tom Hickey ($10,670)… the ruck position isn’t very appealing on this slate. However, Brisbane bring Darcy Fort back into the lineup to pair with Oscar McInerney while Hickey will assume the majority of the role by himself for the Swans. Hickey has managed three games where he was averaged 67 points, which isn’t a great return, but on a single game slate it might be enough at this price point, rather than paying up for Oscar. He has also shown in past years the ability to return scores in the 90-100 point range as the sole ruck.
PREMIUM PLAYS
Lachie Neale ($15,400) has been back to his Brownlow medal winning form over the past four weeks. Posting four straight 100+ point games for an average of 111 points per game and this should be a positive matchup against Sydney with the Lions favoured by over five goals.
