Round 13 of the 2023 AFL Premiership Season continues with a huge clash between two flag fancies – the Western Bulldogs and Port Adelaide.

These teams have shared a thrilling rivalry over the past few years, so this contest is sure to excite.

Melbourne – Partly cloudy, 15 degrees.

Any weather concerns can be discounted for this game, as the match will be played under the roof at Marvel Stadium.

Where To Attack?

The single most significant DFS trend on this slate is the massive scoring of ruckmen against Port Adelaide. No matter the personnel, the Power have been dominated in the ruck this year and opposition big men have piled on the points. As one of the premier ruckmen in the league, Tim English should take full advantage of this trend on Friday night.

Elsewhere, it’s difficult to find an avenue to attack as Port have been stingy right across the park. For this reason, I expect DFS players to shy away from stacking Bulldogs stars on this slate.

Game Script – Port Adelaide stacks

VALUE PLAYS

Josh Sinn (DS $6,000) comes in for his first full game of the year in a crunch encounter, but rest assured the kid is ready. An outside distributor who loves to kick the ball, Sinn will relish the perfect conditions at Marvel and after scoring 104 in a breakout SANFL performance, a 10x value score is not out of the question here.

MID PRICED PLAYS

Darcy Byrne-Jones (DS $9,430)To the surprise of many, Byrne-Jones has spent most of the season playing the role of a pressure forward, which has stunted his fantasy output. This week, DBJ has been named in defence and based on the personnel selected, I believe he will spend the game down back. As such, he could return to the 80+ DFS scores of old tonight.

Travis Boak (DS $10,310) This is a bit of a punt play, I’ll be honest. Boak has looked well below his best in 2023, with age and injuries catching up with him. However, $10k is a steal for a player who averaged 95 DFS points as recently as last year. Boak managed a whopping 124 points against the Saints at this venue earlier in the season.

PREMIUM PLAYS

Tim English (DS $17,450) Yes, the asking price is steep, but you get what you pay for with English. Averaging 121, English has been an absolute colossus in the ruck this year and this week he draws the softest matchup in the competition. Fresh off a 158 against the Cats, I can see Tim going 130+ with ease against the Power.

Bailey Dale (DS $13,730) has thrived in the absence of Jason Johannisen, hitting the ton three times in his last four appearances. With Ed Richards now out of the side, Dale is locked into a distributing role down back, and is definitely under-priced given his elite recent output.
