Where to Attack?

Let's take a closer look at our AFL Data Tools to find any trends that might help us construct winning lineups on Draftstars for this match.

Inside midfielders have thrived against Hawthorn all season as the Hawks are lacking experience, size and a top tap ruckman. It should be a good night for the Bulldogs then, who have plenty of men capable of racking up the touches in the middle. Stacks in this position look likely as a result.

Down forward, West Coast have given up huge scores, on both the scoreboard and in a fantasy sense. While Essendon have hardly been playing champagne football, if there is a week for their forwards to cash in, this is it. Attackers have also fared well against the Hawks, who have given away the third most points to ‘Bottom 3’ forwards.

Game Script – Bulldogs stacks

VALUE PLAYS

Rhylee West ($6,280)

The son of a gun has not scored below 50 in his five appearances so far this season and returned a season high of 74 last week. He gets a great matchup on Friday night and represents a safe option.

Massimo D’Ambrosio ($6,000)

The pocket rocket made his debut for the Bombers last week down back, impressing with his run and pinpoint kicking. He may have only scored 44 but I saw enough promise to suggest a value return is possible.

MID-PRICE PLAYS

Peter Wright ($9,220)

Two-metre Peter has been hit and miss so far in season 2022, but he has thrived when playing against weaker teams with depleted tall defender stocks. Wright will get plenty of opportunities against the Eagles, who have struggled to contain tall forwards this year.

PREMIUM PLAYS

Jack Macrae ($16,350)

You can take your pick out of a few of the Bulldogs midfield options however I will be putting my faith in Macrae first and foremost. Taking over extra responsibility in the absence of Bailey Smith, Macrae churned out a 148 last week against GWS after hitting 124 against Geelong. He has always been consistent but also has the ceiling to break the slate here.
