WEATHER WATCH
Melbourne
Could be some rain during the games but with up 2mm forecast it shouldn’t impact the games too heavily. I won’t be factoring it into my team builds on this slate.
Where to Attack
All season Collingwood were the obvious team to attack via the back line, however a change in game style this past month has totally flipped that with the Magpies giving up the fewest points in the league to the position over the last 5 games. The Western Bulldogs on the other hand have conceded the equal second most points to the position this year and in a game that is expected to be a blowout it goes without saying that North Melbourne will spend plenty of time in their back half.
It is not shock that he team sitting in last place on the ladder is giving up the second most points to midfielders this season. On the flip side North Melbourne’s opponent, the Western Bulldogs, lead the league in disposals, which is primarily driven by their midfield. This is a match made in heaven and stacking up the Bulldogs midfield every which way should be the chalk play on this slate.
Tim English is still getting exposed by oppositions rucks this season and the Bulldogs have given up 90 points per game to the number one ruck man (103 over the last 5 games with Stefan Martin our injured).

VALUE PLAYS
Mason Wood (DS $6,960) has been in solid fantasy scoring form in his recent games, posting 3 straight games of 71+, including 1 100+ point game. All these scores would be a return of over 10x value, which is GPP winning range. On this slate he draws a solid matchup against the Magpies who are sitting 16th on the ladder, which means the Saints should be every chance to get another win and have plenty of scoring opportunities up forward.
Josh Bruce (DS $7,730) is a GPP special, with the Bulldogs just under 50 point favourites, he will have every opportunity up forward to kick a bag. North will rightly put their main defensive focus into Aaron Naughton who is having a break out season up forward. We have already seen Bruce post two games of 119 or higher, and when the Bulldogs played North earlier in the season he went off kicking 10 goals en route to 152 fantasy points.
MID PRICED PLAYS
Jordan De Goey (DS $9,990), as you can see below has been unleashed into the midfielder in his past three games attending 50-80% of their centre bounces. During this stretch, he posted two scores over 100 points and a low score of 78. On this slate, he faces St Kilda who have conceded the 5th most fantasy points to midfielders this year.
Todd Goldstein (DS $11,930) draws the second best matchup in the league for his position on this slate and despite his age showed us last week that he can still put up a ceiling game with a 119 point performance against the Gold Coast.
Lachie Hunter (DS $12,680) is playing on the wing with one of the best matchups in the league. Since moving to the wing, he has posted a low score of 92 from the last 5 games. The Western Bulldogs are almost 50 point favourites in this matchup at Marvel stadium. Lock in this play and move on.
Bailey Smith (DS $11,530) was put back onto the inside last week against West Coast, attending 74% of their centre bounces. This was a huge success as Smith totally turned around his recent poor form and posted a massive 127-point game. His price point is too low for this role and given how well it went last week there is no obvious reason why Beveridge wouldn’t stick with it (as always there is a caveat that Bevo is going to be Bevo, so if he decides to put Caleb Daniel in the ruck no one would really be surprised).
PREMIUM PLAYS
Jack Macrae (DS $17,170) has not one score under 101 this season. He has an upside of 150+, with 3 games of 147 or higher. On this slate he draws one of the best matchups in the league for his position and the Bulldogs are heavy favourites. Really, what is not to like?
