It wouldn’t be fitting if this season didn’t wind up on a Monday night. This Monday we have Collingwood vs Port Adelaide with the Magpies still fighting for which seed they will have in the bottom 4 of the finals (and likely would want to avoid a trip out to WA for round 1).

Collingwood vs Port Adelaide at the GABBA (PTA -7.5, Total 118.5)

WEATHER WATCH

Perfect weather for football! Only risk is the Queensland nightly dew making things slippery after a 30 degree day.

WHERE TO ATTACK

This is going to be a tough game to dissect as both teams tend to like possessing the football limiting their opponents opportunity to score. The one standout area to attack is defenders against Collingwood with the Magpies giving up the second most points in the league to the position this year. Port backs can be difficult to find a value return from as they are more of a contested ball side than uncontested as highlighted below:

VALUE PLAYS

Trent McKenzie (DS $8,880, DK $5,000)

McKenzie has shown a consistent floor in recent games posting a low score of 55 from his last 5 games and sporting an upside of 70+ this year. It is an elite matchup for him playing off half back as mentioned above, and I love linking him up as a value play with more expensive Port defenders.

Levi Greenwood (DS $8,060, DK $4,300)

Greenwood looked to push up the ground more last game against the Gold Coast and returned a solid score for his price point of 59 points. From his three games this season 2 have been 50+ and if you are looking to get away from Port defenders, I like using Greenwood as a value play on this slate.

MID PRICED PLAYS

Jamie Elliot (DS $10,750, DK $5,700)

It is no secret that the Magpies have unleashed Elliot into the midfield this season, which has become even more pronounced as they were hit by injury. Even with Treloar back last week, Elliot still attended 80% of the centre bounces and he returned a 69-point game. With an upside of 100+ displayed this season he is a great mid-priced play for GPPs on this slate.

Dan Houston (DS $12,960, DK $6,300)

Houston looks to be a nice option to link with Trent McKenzie on this slate. You can play him through the midfield as well, which gives the opportunity to stack up more backs or play some Magpie backs as well. His last four games have all been over 70 points, while his last two are 80+ and this matchup is the second best in the league for his position off half back.

PREMIUM PLAYS

Adam Treloar (DS $15,040, DK $7,700)

Adam Treloar is yet to see his price return to the level it should be based on his play early in the season. He didn't miss a beat last week posting an 85 point game and we could see his time on ground increase this week reaching closer to 80+%. He has displayed a ceiling in short quarters of 119 points, and with his price point cheaper than Boak, Adams and Rockliff he is my favourite premium priced play on the slate.
