Win $50,000 in BBL08 With Draftstars Biggest Bash!
While the Australian Daily Fantasy Sports industry has grown considerably in both size and popularity in recent years, there has been one element of the game where we have remained extremely jealous of our Northern Hemisphere counterparts - the coveted live finals.
If you are not familiar with what a DFS live final is, it is much like you may imagine. Players compete to win a package into a lucrative contest, which includes their entry fee, airfares and accommodation among other perks, where you can cheer on your lineup(s) in real time with the other qualifiers. In an online-based world of competition, a live final can provide an awesome social experience and help grow what has already proven to be an extremely tight-knit community.
Well buckle up Aussie DFS fans. Draftstars - the leading provider in Big Bash cricket contests - have just announced they are bringing the live final concept to Australia with their "Biggest Bash" competition!
The Biggest Bash is a guaranteed $150,000 contest which will be run on the BBL08 Final, which is scheduled to take place on February 17. The event will be held in Melbourne at Crown Casino offering an overnight VIP experience for all qualifiers, with the VIP event at Club 23 including a special guest in the form of former Australian fast bowling sensation Brett Lee.
Not only will this be the first live final in Australian DFS history, but it will also offer the biggest individual prize we have ever seen on our shores. First prize will win a whopping $50,000 and live forever in the history books as being the first ever winner of an Australian DFS live final. 2nd place will take home a monster $30,000 with $10,000 going into the pocket of the 3rd placed finisher. The rest of the qualifiers won’t go home empty handed with those placing between 4th and 40th receiving a $1,000 prize and the rest will win $500 to go with the experience of being involved in this history making event.
Draftstars players will get their chance to qualify for the event throughout the BBL08 season, with a contest running on each of the 56 home and away games with just a $2 entry. The owner of the winning lineup in each contest will win a ticket to the event, which includes entry into the contest, flights from a capital city and a night's accommodation at Crown Metropol. In the event of a tie in a qualifying contest, the multiple winners will be moved into a play-off contest to compete for the solitary entry ticket. Be aware that if you find yourself in this situation you will be auto-entered and will need to update your lineup accordingly.
If qualifiers aren’t your thing, Draftstars also offers the opportunity to buy directly into the event with their ‘Fast Pass’ option. You can skip the qualifying queue and head straight to the final by purchasing one of only 15 available tickets to the event for $5,000. If you can’t bear to miss out on the biggest ever event to hit the Australian DFS community but have neither the inclination or the luck to get your ticket through the qualifying contests, this is the option for you.
Draftstars will have an on-site leaderboard throughout the qualifying period for the Biggest Bash which will display all the winners as they qualify for their tickets, as well as showing all the remaining contests which give you the opportunity to win your package to the main event. Be sure to stay tuned to Daily Fantasy Rankings as we will bring you further information on the winning qualifiers as well as providing you with extensive previews of every game across the BBL08 season to help you win your way to the big dance. We are also excited to be on deck for the live final as we will be providing full coverage of the main event as Draftstars looks to crown its first ever live final champion!
We will provide more information on the main event and the qualifiers as things start to heat up in mid December ahead of the first match of the season - Brisbane Heat v Adelaide Strikers at The Gabba on Wednesday, December 19.
Big Bash is coming and now, so is the Biggest Bash!
