Friday's double-header of the NRL in Round 6 sees the Rabbitohs hosting the Warriors at Bankwest Stadium along with a great matchup with the 5th placed Panthers taking on the Storm who currently sit in 3rd place on the ladder.

Team News

 

The Rabbioths are trending towards 1-17 from last week's win whilst for the Warriors are also 1-17 from last week's win over the Cowboys but Winger David Fusitu’a could make his way into the starting lineup.  

 

Dylan Edwards returns at Fullback for the Panthers and Liam Martin comes into the starting side replacing the injured Kurt Capewell. Jarome Hughes for the Storm is named in the reserves but is still suffering from a broken hand. We need to monitor Brandon Smith as he is named on the bench but has started the last two weeks. Josh Addo-Carr is expecting the birth of his child with Paul Momirovski coming into the team.

Fantasy Plays

 

With Draftstars salaries now in tune with current form and previous fantasy scores, the slate is quite even across the two games. If playing the two game slate then targeting the first game needs to be considered with the high points total.  

 

WFB: Latrell Mitchell $12,800 is officially back in fantasy relevance. It took him a few games but Mitchell is dangerous in attack. 11 Tackle Breaks and 3 Try Assists last week was probably his ceiling game but the Warriors defence is very porous. Must be considered. Ryan Papenhuyzen $11,000 produced another sub 30 fantasy performance last week and his price is dropping. Whilst he is playing well, there aren't the assists or the tackle breaks to improve his scoring. Yet the projections will have the GPP entrants on notice. The Panthers wingers of Brian To’o $8,800 and Josh Mansour $10,300 will find the Storm defence much harder than previous games, while the Storm wingers of Suli Vunivalu $8,470 and untested centre/winger Paul Momiroski $9,230 have low floors. Dane Gagai $8,520 and Alex Johnston $7,340 are in smash spot against the Warriors and if David Fusitu’a $7,000 gets a game he is a great value option.    

 

CTR: Plenty of CTR only players here which will spread out the ownership. Although the field will gravitate to Souths options in Braidon Burns $8,800 and Campbell Brown $9,400 who have been linking well with Mitchell. Peter Hiku $8,510 scored a treble last week so try not to chase points there. Everyone else are just solid 30 point contributors. Look for the winger you have selected and pair the centre so you can correlate. 

 

HALF: There was a bounce back game from Adam Reynolds $12,530 against the Titans and watch the ownership bounce back after his salary has remained solid. Scary fade really. But if you do have the extra money then you can differentiate with ceiling plays of Cameron Munster $14,480 and to some extent Nathan Cleary $14,470

 

2RF: We always seem to find a value play and for this slate this is Liam Martin $9,970 and he is more than acceptable here. With Capewell injured, Martin scored 50+ fantasy points last week. If paying up then Isaah Yeo $16,200 and James Fisher-Harris $14,360 are your key targets here. Storm edge players Kenneth Bromwich $12,120 & Patrick Kaufusi $10,270 are solid without being spectacular and Cameron Murray $14,480 also needs to be considered.   

 

HOK: Hooker stud city + Wayne Egan $10,100. You will need to save your salary to pick Cam Smith $15,700, Damien Cook $16,630 or Api Koroisau $14,500. You can make a case for all three but with the higher points total and spread then Cook will probably need to be involved in tries to get to value whereas Smith and Koroisau will grind out high tackle totals. Leaning towards Smith.  

 

FRF: Apart from Jamayne Taunoa-Brown $13,000 this position contains solid plays at a similar price point. You could take a flyer on Christain Welch $11,000 whether he starts on not as he is producing a fantasy point per minute for the Storm. Our bench friend Moses Leota $9,070 is still cheap and is still a good value play.  

 

Final word: The scripts are looking at Souths backs combined with Storm/Panthers forwards on the two game slate. Not many options in the forwards to save money so sacrifices in the back line will need to be made for lineups. Good Luck!
