The red-hot Rabbits, against the sputtering Eels. The bookies have this pretty spot on. With Sivo and Ferguson out, the Eels have a weak looking backline who need to outscore the scintillating Rabbits backs.

Fantasy Preview

WFB: With the Rabbits handy favourites, the popular plays should be Alex Johnston and Corey Allan. Fair enough, they both have looked great recently, and the Eels backline is decimated. Clint Gutherson will try his heart out, but the 50+ points we need from him has been rare lately, so I’m not too interested. The salary saving punt play that does hold some appeal is Jaxson Paulo. At minimum price and with 50 point upside he’s a strong alternative to his chalkier teammates.

CTR: This is an interesting spot. Two expensive options from he favourites, and two cheaper outsider options. The pricing is pretty much spot on, meaning play Campbell Graham or Dane Gagai in your Rabbits stacks and take a shot at Michael Jennings or Waqa Blake in Eels stacks.

HALF: It’s hard to pass on the red hot form of Cody Walker at the moment, but I’m going to prefer Adam Reynolds in this one. The small price discount and perhaps a small ownership discount is enough for me to like the idea of hoping for a quiet one from Cody. Mitch Moses rarely goes under 40 these days, so he’s a solid play if you can fit him and think he can drag the Eels over the line in this one. Dylan Brown should garner a little ownership as the only salary saving option at the position. His recent form isn’t promising but you can’t completely ignore some of his monster scores from earlier in the season.

2RF: Shaun Lane snapped out of a mini-slump last week with a nice 57 points. He’s my favourite of the cheaper options. Cam Murray should be the most popular option with some nice recent form and a little cheaper than Nathan Brown and Ryan Matterson. Given that they all have the same kind of upside I like the idea of taking the ownership discount on the Eels players if you can fit them in.

HOK: Damien Cook is usually the right answer at hooker, and he is the clear preference again tonight. Reed Mahoney is still a perfectly good play if you want to save a little salary, but his minutes aren’t guaranteed.

FRF: I don’t know how you can split the options here. Any of Tevita Tatola, Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Junior Paulo are likely to be popular. I don’t think there is much of a stand to be made here unless you want to to take a shot at a bench forward, in which case Kane Evans and Keaon Koloamatangi have the right kind of upside at lower ownership.

Final Word: These are big contests, so it pays to make that one unique decision in your lineup to give yourself a shot at the solo win. One option is to leave a little salary on the table. Definitely don’t try playing Jed Cartwright!! Good Luck!
