Divisional rivals the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions headline Monday Night Football for Week 2 in the NFL. The Packers are looking to bounce back after an “embarrassing” performance against the Saints and are heavily favoured to do the job at Lambeau Field. The Lions were involved in the highest scoring game in Week 1 and may look to continue to attack and don’t bother with the defence…

Draftstars have a $15,000 contest up for grabs in the 6-man ‘Flex’ contest whilst another Millionaire Maker is up for grabs on DraftKings in their ‘Showdown’ format.

Fantasy Overview

It was a great surprise that one of the cheapest salaried Quarterbacks in Week 1 in Jared Goff goes bananas for 338 passing yards and 3 TD’s! Then compare that to Aaron Rodgers who had a shocker for 133 passing yards and 2 picks. I think we can put both of these performances as outliers and look to build lineups if it was Week 1. Of course there were some clues in terms of targets and snap share, but I wouldn’t go overboard. Packers should win and win well or hell is gonna breakout in Wisconsin.

Love It - Aaron Rodgers ($21,740 DS / $11,400 DK)

If Jimmy G for the 49ers can carve up this Lions defence for 41 points then Rodgers gets the perfect spot to silence the doubters. Missing top Cornerback in Jeff Okudah who is out for the season for the Lions, Rodgers gets a top matchup for himself and his best mate in Davante Adams. 240 Passing Yards 2TD / 290 Passing Yards 3TD in their two meetings last year against the Lions goes to show what we should expect from Rodgers.

Love It - D’Andre Swift ($15,030 DS / $8,400 DK)

Not much to love from the Lions this week but when forced to select one then I would side with Swift who is very active in the passing game from the backfield. The RB2 out-snapped Jamaal Williams last week by a ratio of 2:1 and with the Lions a 12 point dog, expect Swift to feature in many receiving sets. The price is a bit high, especially if you are forcing Rodgers-Adams stacks but is more than fine if you are building more balanced builds.

50/50 Call - Robert Tonyan ($10,130 DS / $6,400 DK)

Tonyan will be a low owned player considering opposition TE Hockenson popped for a TD and 8 targets against the 49ers. Tonyan scored in both games against the Lions in 2020 and will look to get his season away with a soft matchup here. You can also lob Allen Lazard as a potential cheap play if Rodgers wants to spread the targets.

Hate It - Jared Goff ($14,490 DS, $10,000 DK)

Goff’s salary on DS is reasonable but his DK price makes me want to say ‘no-way’, despite being a road 12 point dog. The majority of Goff’s production came through their RB check-downs and Hockenson. The Packers coaching staff won’t allow this to occur so I cannot see a pathway for Goff to go 20+FP here.
