dfr pak ban

Both Pakistan and Bangladesh have proved to be the overachievers of the 2019 Cricket World Cup and the two will square off against each-other on the penultimate night of the round robin format on Friday night.

Mathematically, Pakistan can still make the semi final, but they’ll need to win by epic proportions to boost their net run rate enough to over take New Zealand on the table.

What’s more likely is that these two teams will battle it our for pride on Friday night as they both look to finish their impressive World Cup campaigns on a high note.

Moneyball have a fantastic $8,000 tournament in place for the Friday night clash as well as the $500 rib tickler tournament which you can enter for just $2! Draftstars have chimed in with a $4,000 contest for $15 buy-in, as well as $500 contest for a $2 cost.

Match Winner

The DFR match-winner is a guaranteed stud who might cost you an arm and a leg, but is going to score well on any given night.

Shakib Al Hasan ($9,000 Moneyball) ($___ Draftstars)

How can we look past the man that has been arguably the player of the tournament to date in the Cricket World Cup. Shakib Al Hasan has barely put a foot wrong in the round robin stage so far, amassing a ridiculous 542 runs at an average of 90.33. His perforamnces with the bat in the tournament so far read 75, 64, 121, 124, 41, 51 and 66. Amazingly, he has only failed to make 50 on one occasion and has only finished an innings on sub 80 strike rate once.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Shakib has also racked up 11 wickets in the tournament so far at an average of 31.09. Only 13 bowlers have taken more wickets than Shakib in this tournament, and only 1 of those 13 have made more than 50 total runs in the tournament. Set and forget with Shakib on Friday night.

Night Watchman

The night-watchmen will be a great point of difference in your team and plugging him somewhere in the middle order could be the difference between winning and losing.

Tamim Iqbal ($6,000 Moneyball) ($___ Draftstars)

The Bangladesh opener has been consistent in the tournament so far and is at a bargain basement price, particularly at Moneyball where you can pick him up for just $6,000. Has amassed 227 runs at an average of 32.42 in the World Cup and has barely failed. His run of scores in seven innings so far read 16, 24, 19, 48, 62, 36 and 22.

The opener also has a dominant record against Pakistan. 16 of his 200 ODI games have come against Pakistan and in those 16, his average jumps from 36.12 to 45.06. His last five scores against them, which span over two series in 2012 and 2015 read 64, 60, 132, 116* and 64.

Fine Leg to Fine Leg

Anyone who’s played a game of grade cricket before knows that only the duds go from fine leg to fine leg. Avoid these guys like the plague.

Sarfraz Ahmed ($5,700 Moneyball) ($___ Draftstars)

The Pakistani captain has been an elite captain throughout the tournament but his role with the bat has been pretty limited. There has been plenty of games where he has been needed to play the finisher role, which is always a bit hit and miss for fantasy scores and on the few occasions where the pressure has been on, he’s come up a bit short.

He has scored just 37 runs in his last four innings and amassed a total of just 46.5 fantasy points over those four games. The skipper has played eight matches against Bangladesh in his 113 game ODI career. He has made no fifties in those games and his batting average drops from 34.36 to 30.00.
