Virat Kohli India Pakistan Cricket World Cup ICC 2019

This Sunday night will see the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup approach the halfway point, when neighbouring rivals India and Pakistan go head-to-head at Old Trafford.

India opened their World Cup campaign with a 7 wicket victory over South Africa. Chasing 227, India reached the total with just 15 balls remaining. They then produced a brilliant 36 run victory over Australia. Giving the Aussies 353 for victory, India’s bowlers restricted them to 316. India’s much anticipated match with the only other undefeated side, New Zealand, was abandoned due to rain.

Pakistan had a very poor start to their World Cup. In their opening game they were bundled out for 105 in the 22nd over, before the West Indies ran down the total in the 14th over to win by 7 wickets. They then came up against hosts and favourites to win, England, where they scored 348 runs and held on to win by 14 runs. Their match with Sri Lanka was washed out. They then lost by 41 runs to Australia, where they bowled out with 4 overs remaining.

Match-Winner
The DFR match-winner is a guaranteed stud who might cost you an arm and a leg, but is going to score well on any given night.

Rohit Sharma – IND ($17,120 DraftStars) ($7,300 MoneyBall)
India’s opening batsman has been in sparkling form so far, racking up an unbeaten 122 in the opening game against South Africa, following up with 57 against Australia. He’s not a fast scorer of runs, but a consistently solid scorer. He has an average of 52.50 in ODI’s this year and an even better 110.0 over his last 4 One Dayers, proving this isn’t flash in the pan form.

He has produced fantasy scores of 170 and 71 at DraftStars in his 2 World Cup games so far, while over at MoneyBall he scored 72.0 and 29.5. He’s a typically solid scorer who is capable of racking up huge scores. There’s minimal downside and plenty of upside.

Night-Watchman
The night-watchmen will be a great point of difference in your team and plugging him somewhere in the middle order could be the difference between winning or losing.

Mohammad Amir – PAK ($14,490 DraftStars) ($6,800 MoneyBall)
Pakistan’s strike bowler has been arguable the best bowler in the World Cup so far, snaring 10 wickets in just 3 games. Only Australian quicks Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins have more wickets, 13 and 11 respectively, but they’ve both played 2 games more than Amir.

Amir took all 3 of Pakistan’s wickets in just 6 overs in the opening game, he then took 2 wickets against England before producing a stunning performance against Australia, where he took 5 for 30 off 10 overs, including 2 maidens. He’s very nicely priced at MoneyBall, which makes him a near certainty in any fantasy cricket side.

Fine-leg to Fine-leg
Anyone who’s played a game of grade cricket before knows that only the duds go from fine leg to fine leg. Avoid these guys like the plague.

Kedar Jadhav – IND ($10,800 DraftStars) ($5,600 MoneyBall)
The Indian middle order batsman and part time bowler has barely had any involvement in either of the two games India has played thus far. He has yet to face a ball with the bat, while his bowling has been fruitless as well, taking 0/16 off 4 overs in his first game and then got belted for 14 runs in 1 over against Australia.

He might be cheap, but he’s also a strong chance of scoring next to no points, given he bats too low in the order and is also bowling too far down the order, at fourth change.
