The El Camaleon Golf Club in Playa Del Carmen in Mexico a Par 71 at 6,987 yard course is the host of the Mayakoba Golf Classic. The PGA Tour is now back to the standard field of 132 golfers with the regular cut format, where 65 golfers will play the weekend if they make the cut. Defending champion Matt Kuchar is back in Mexico to defend his title. Also in the field this week are Presidents Cup selections in Jason Day, Tony Finau and Joaquin Niemann.

El Camaleon GC is an exposed, short oceanside golf course where wind is the only barrier for golfers in going low. I am expecting at least -20 to be the winning score. Being a short course, I am looking for ball strikers and GIR stats. The greens are small with paspalum grass, so I am not sure if this makes a difference in putting this week.

According to Rotogrinders.com this weeks key statistics include:

Key Statistics (In Order of Importance)

1) Strokes Gained Approach

2) Greens in Regulation

3) Birdie or Better %

4) Strokes Gained Off the Tee

5) Strokes Gained Around the Green

For the Fantasy Sites, DraftKings have posted a $175,000 Best Ball with $50,000 to 1st place. For Draftstars we have a $5,000 contest for a $15 entry.

Two different approaches in my Draftstars and DraftKings builds. As always you can achieve more bang for your buck on Draftstars with only Doc Redman (made last 3 cuts in a row) the only cheap player I looked to roster. DraftKings is a harder prospect but have gone a more stars and scrubs build with two golfers under the $7k range.

Would really like to see Viktor Hovland break through and obtain his maiden win on the tour. Just bombing drives with such great accuracy (Number 1 in the field for length and accuracy). Lanto Griffin is currently the number 1 ranked FedEx leader at the moment and does get a great discount on Draftstars. Charles Howell has been in some great form being with a top 10 in the ZOZO and making the cuts at the Shriners and the Safeway. Classic ball-striker and hoping he contends this week. Hank Lebioda and Maverick McNealy are two flyers that hopefully make it through the weekend. Tough little slate this one (lock is at 0100 AEDT Friday morning).

For "Lights Out" and "Shanks" this week I have placed a heavy emphasis on golfers who are either brilliant 'Off the Tee' and 'Strokes Gained on Approach'. The Shanks are golfers who currently not going so well in these statistics.
