Fantasy Tennis: 2019 US Open Day 2 Tips
Welcome to the Day 2 fantasy tennis preview for the 2019 US Open. Today’s list looks a little more spread out, and a more balanced team looks the best approach for today.
DraftKings have a great offering of DFS contests on offer, headlined by a $100,000 Guaranteed with $25,000 for the winner for just a $15 buy-in! There's also a range of smaller contests that offer tremendous value, starting from just $1.
2019 US Open Day 2 Fantasy Lineup Tips
Player One – Bianca Andreescu ($10,900)
Whilst I don’t see her going as far as many predict this fortnight, this should be a very comfortable first up win for Andreescu. I cannot see Volynets getting close to the Canadian, and there is the chance of a very high score for the taking today.
Player Two – Julia Goerges ($9,200)
Whilst the form of the German hasn’t been top notch recently, she should be able to comfortably account for Vikhlyantseva today, who has really struggled in the back end of 2019. I would not be surprised with a one-sided victory here, and the salary is worth a play today given the equivalent salaries of other players in the $9,000 range.
Player Three – Jordan Thompson ($7,500)
The Australian continues to fly under the radar, and looks to be a fantastic price today against Sousa. Sousa will struggle to consistently get the better of Thompson in rallying, now that Thompson has started to improve his serving and ability to hit his forehand with a bit more depth than previous years. A nice price for the Australian to progress with a solid score.
Player Four – Alison Riske ($7,100)
Whilst she hasn’t quite looked the same since her run at Wimbledon, Riske is still a very worthy opponent. With Muguruza continuing to struggle on court this year, a solid score could be on offer for Riske if she brings her best on home soil. Value on potential at the salary.
Player Five – Astra Sharma ($6,500)
Based on the efforts of some of the other finalists from last week on Day 1 of the US Open, this looks a decent potential spot to save some salary. Hurkacz and Giorgi both lost on Day 1, and Linette may struggle to back up from her WTA title 48 hours ago. Another one that on potential looks to be value.
Player Six – Viktoria Kudermetova ($8,600)
Another player with the potential to score big is Kudermetova. Di Lorenzo can be a little hit and miss, and the form of the Russian in the lead-up has been very solid. Could generate a big score if everything clicks for Kudermetova.
