Race 7 at Warwick Farm provides an intriguing race to work around a couple of horses suited racing near the lead. Pecans has run well at both runs this time in against harder company and although she goes up to 60kg she has twice won with 59.5kg in the past. She has the ratings to win this and can push forward to overcome her tricky draw. $4.60 at Sportsbet appeals as a reasonable price. The other on-pacer who looks well placed here is Catesby, who has been beaten narrowly at her past couple. He looks set to ping straight to the lead and may be able to control the race with a light weight on his back. If he does, it can play right into the hands of those betting on the two leading on-pacers. Catesby is available at $6 with Beteasy.

Race 9 at Warwick Farm takes place at 6:15pm and the state of the major tournaments will be reaching a fever pitch. Bon Amis presents as an excellent option at $4.20 with Neds. He ran home impressively to win his second successive race last time at Rosehill and drawing wide on the track projects to be an advantage by this stage of the day. Given he has placed at 1400m the slightly longer trip shouldn’t be an issue, nor should the 60kg given he carried 59.5kg to win two starts ago. If he holds his form he should be very hard to beat again.
