Fantasy Formula 1: Brazillian Grand Prix
The penultimate Formula 1 race of the season will take place this Sunday at Interlagos, when the Brazillian Grand Prix is run. The Mexican Grand Prix prior to this race saw Lewis Hamilton run second to Max Verstappen, but it was enough for him to clinch his fifth Drivers Championship.
However the constructors championship is still undecided, with Ferrari still in with a slim hope of claiming the title, a title they haven’t won since 2008.
Mexico saw Red Bull dominate all weekend, with yet another mechanical failure to Daniel Ricciardo’s car, while he was in second place and just a handful of laps from finishing the race. However his team mate was all smiles after scoring a good race win.
This weekend is the last one left for fantasy formula 1 players to win a free seat in the PlayON Super Contest for the end of season race at Abu Dhabi, which will see $20,000 in prize money on the line. 9 Free tickets will be up for grabs this weekend, so make sure you get your teams in!
Mercedes will be out to wrap up the constructors title here, while Ferrari will be vying for a 1-2 finish to close the gap. Sebastian Vettel won this race last year, with his team mate Kimi Raikkonen finishing third. It’s a reasonably quick track, with laps taking around 70 to 75 seconds to complete.
Mercedes is the most expensive constructor at $33.2 million, but stand the best chance of doing a 1-2 finish out of all teams. Verstappen is in hot form and has the second highest points average (16) behind only Hamilton (19). Given he is the 4th most expensive driver at $21.8 million, he’s well worth a look. He also set the fastest lap record at this track last year.
Raikkonen has been arguably the most consistent driver all year and is driving brilliantly right now. He’s averaged 14 this year and costs $19.1 million, making him the cheapest of the top 6 drivers.
The midfield as always is an area that remains heavily contested by drivers and teams alike, right down to the last lap at Abu Dhabi. Charles Leclerc has been brilliant this year, averaging 8 and costing a low $5.9 million. Esteban Ocon at $9.5million is also good value, as he has been a relatively consistent top 10 finisher this year. Nico Hulkenberg costs $10.5 million and Carlos Sainz is worth $9.9 million, both averaging 6 and 7 respectively, while Fernando Alonso ($9.9 million), Stoffel Vandoorne ($7.4 million), Pierre Gasly ($6.4 million) and Romain Grosjean ($5.4 million) have all averaged 6 points this year and are well priced.
