2019-2020 NFL Daily Fantasy Tips: Wildcard Weekend
The NFL playoffs have arrived! Whilst the amount of games have reduced their is still plenty of action for daily fantasy with 4 games this weekend. The biggest daily fantasy sites around Australia and abroad are offering some more fantastic prize pools for the weekend’s action! As usual, a millionaire will be made at DraftKings this weekend in the feature tournament and there’s plenty more great contests on offer.
The games are spread over the weekend with two games on Saturday (US Time) and Sunday. Each match-up has its own set of circumstances whether injuries (Philadelphia) or form (New England) are in question. The New Orleans Saints have the largest spread of the weekend at 8 points, whilst all games do have healthy game totals.
Injury news to monitor
- Dalvin Cook - Good to Go (Shoulder)
- Miles Sanders - Questionable (Ankle)
- Michael Thomas - Questionable (Hand)
- Julian Edelman - Questionable (Knee/Shoulder)
- Will Fuller V - Questionable (Groin)
- Zach Ertz - Questionable (Ribs)
This weeks team takes on three distinct narratives for the weekend. First of all I believe the Titans will go to Foxboro and defeat the Patriots in a “end of a dynasty” style narrative. The running game of Derrick Henry is just too hot for any team in the nation and whilst the Pats defence is good the form of their offence to keep the Titans off the park is alarming.
Secondly the Eagles are running out of offensive weapons. Which is great for fantasy as we know who are these targets are going to be. With the Eagles slight dogs that means plenty of passing and attacking upside if the Eagles are behind at home.
Thirdly, I cannot ignore the passing game from the New Orleans Saints. 8 point favourites with the leagues all time reception holder for the season, I need exposure to the passing game.

Wildcard team of the week
Quarterback - Carson Wentz
With all the injuries the Eagles have endured, Wentz has had to manage multiple receivers and still threw over 4,000 yards and had 27TD:7INT. Easy to stack with Ward and Goedert as an efficient way to spend salary.
Running Back - Derrick Henry
Currently the hottest Running Back in the league, Henry has been racking up the yards for fun. Over 200 yards last week with 3 TD’s! Not sure the Pats will give that many up but don’t be surprised Henry runs amok against the Pats.
Running Back - Travis Homer
The Rookie RB is now sharing the snaps with recently signed back Marshawn Lynch. The Seahawks will be looking to control the pace of the game with the running game and Homer has the upside to exceed value.
Wide Receiver - Michael Thomas
Keeping it simple here - 8 point spread, at home and the best receiver in the league. Must play.
Wide Receiver - Greg Ward
Pairing with Wentz as the main receiver, Ward is pretty much the last man standing for the Eagles. 7 targets last week but could see plenty more action here.
Wide Receiver - Corey Davis
If the Pats do manage to keep Henry contained, then the Titans passing game comes into focus. With CB Stephon Gilmore likely to go to AJ Brown, then Davis could exceed value quite quickly. As I mentioned, I am bullish on the Titans against the Pats and want pieces from this match.
Wide Receiver - Tre’Quan Smith
If this Saints games gets out of hand then multiple Touchdown opportunities become available. Tre’Quan played pretty well last week in a game where Thomas sat out the majority of the game. 5 from 5 with a TD, so the the Redzone opportunity is there. Get a score and happy days.
Tight End - Dallas Goedert
With fellow TE Zach Ertz not cleared for contact yet, Goedert is looking likely the starter for the Eagles. As mentioned with hardly anyone left for the Eagles, Goedert will be a popular choice at TE.
