2019-20 NFL Daily Fantasy Tips: Week 4
The 2019 NFL season is beginning to pick up some great momentum and the daily fantasy sites in Australia continue to embrace America’s number one sport. Week 4 gets underway on Friday morning with the Packers taking on the Eagles and as usual.
Draftstars, Moneyball and DraftKings have some great feature tournaments on over the weekend and we run you through all of them in our fantasy preview below.
NFL Week 4 Fantasy Preview
Friday
Philadelphia Eagles at Green Bay Packers (10.20am AEST) Packers -4.5/Total 45.0
DraftKings: $1,500,000 $10USD entry fee
Draftstars: $7,000 $15AUD entry fee
Moneyball: $1,500 $15AUD entry fee
Chalk: Davante Adams (Green Bay)
The Green Bay No.1 receiver had a quieter game against the Broncos in Week 3, finishing with four receptions for 56 yards, however, we think he is the chalk this weekend against a Philly defence that has allowed the fourth most passing yards so far this season. QB Aaron Rodgers has targeted Adams 21 times through three games this season. The last time the Packers faced the Eagles, back in 2016, Adams had a monster game, racking up 113 yards on five catches including two touchdowns.
Chance: Green Bay D/ST
The Packers have had one of the most impressive defences in the league through the opening three rounds. They have allowed just 11.7 points per game, the second fewest of any team in the league and have already accumulated a total of 8 takeaways, the most of any team. Through three games, they are the fourth highest scoring defence with a total of 47 fantasy points. There’s also the fact that Thursday night games have been defensive slugfests so far this year, as teams have less time to prepare offensive schemes.
Chump: Zach Ertz (Philadelphia)
Ertz has been a consistent scorer at the tight end position so far this season with scores of 10.4, 17.2 and 10.4 through the opening three games. He is yet to find the end-zone this season and comes up against a tough Green Bay pass defence on Friday morning. Green Bay have allowed just 197.3 passing yards per game this year, the fifth fewest of any team and the last time the two teams faced, Ertz had just 3 catches for 36 yards.

Monday Main Team of the Week
Quarterback
Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City)
We’ve avoided spending the big bucks for Patrick Mahomes in the opening few rounds of the season but we just can’t overlook him any further. The reigning MVP continues to dominate regardless of opposition. Coming up against what was expected to be one of the better defences in the league in Baltimore in Week 3, Mahomes had 374 yards and three touchdown passes for his third straight score of 30+ fantasy points. Has a great matchup against Detroit, who has allowed over 277 passing yards per game.
Running Backs
Austin Ekeler (Los Angeles)
The Chargers back up has been an absolute beast in the absence of Melvin Gordon. He has already found the end-zone four times in the opening three games and averages 26.3 fantasy points. Has a fantastic matchup this weekend against the Miami Dolphins, who have allowed more points (44.3) and more rushing yards (208) than any other team so far this season.
James White (New England)
The New England running back missed their Week 3 clash against the Jets due to the birth of his child but should be back in action this weekend as the Patriots travel to Buffalo to take on the 3-0 Bills. We love White as a pretty safe option week to week because regardless of the Patriots offensive game plan, his ability to both run the ball and catch balls out of the backfield generally keeps him involved in the contest. Probably won’t give you that high 20 point game but is usually a lock to provide 10-20 points.
Wide Receivers
Sammy Watkins (Kansas City)
Pairing Patrick Mahomes with his No.1 receiving target in Sammy Watkins this weekend. Tyreek Hill remains on the sidelines for the Chiefs, which should keep Watkins target numbers high. He has been targeted 32 times through the opening three rounds, which is by far the most of any Chiefs player. He averages over 100 receiving yards and has three touchdowns for an 24.0 fantasy average. Good matchup against the Lions, where we expect Mahomes to let it fly.
Keenen Allen (Los Angeles)
Going for another Charger here in Keenen Allen to cover both the air and ground games of the Los Angeles offence as they face off against the Dolphins. We fully expect the Chargers to put up at least 35 points in this game, so there should be plenty of fantasy production to go around. Allen had an absolute monster game against Houston in Week 3, catching for 183 yards on 17 targets and adding two touchdowns for 46.6 points.
Danny Amendola (Detroit)
One thing that has become clear through the opening few Chiefs games is that they don’t really care what the other team does on offence. They back themselves to score every time have the ball and put up enough points to drown opposing teams. They allowed 28 points to the Ravens last week and 26 to the Jags in Week 1 and rank in the bottom half of the league for passing yards allowed. We think it could be a bit of a shootout under the roof at Ford Field so Amendola presents good value.
Terry McLaurin (Washington)
Rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin has been the favourite target of QB Case Keenum through the first three games. He has racked up 16 catches on 24 targets including for 257 yards including three touchdown catches. He averages a healthy 20.9 fantasy points per game and has a great matchup this weekend against New York, who allow more passing yards (332.3) than any team in the competition.
Tight End
Will Dissly (Seattle)
Love the value of the Seahawks tight end Will Dissly this weekend. The second year player has seen an increase in targets in all three games so far this season, culminating in a 22 point game in Week 2 and a 18.2 point performance on the weekend against New Orleans. Has a great matchup this weekend against Arizona, who have allowed more points to tight ends than any other team this season.
Defence/ST
Seahawks
We are giving the Seahawks one more chance this week to get their act together on defence. They have a great matchup to do so as they go up against the rookie QB Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals. The Seahawks have five takeaways this season and their offence should continue to improve with continuity.
