2018 AFL Chalk, Chance or Chump: Round 11 Swans vs Blues
We’re back with another edition of our Friday Night AFL Chalk, Chance or Chump! Kicking off Round 11 is a battle between the Sydney Swans and the Carlton Blues. This one looks a bit lob-sided on paper, which gives us even more incentive to have a crack at some daily fantasy sites to keep it interesting!
As usual, PlayON have some huge cash prizes up for grabs in their AFL tournaments this weekend, with a massive $1,000 on offer on Friday Night! They also have several qualifiers for the season-ending $100,000 Super Contest as well as a range of smaller buy-in contests if you want to get a taste.
Take a look below at this week’s Chalk, Chance or Chump as we look to help you out with your DFS AFL lineups for this Friday night!
Chalk – Lance Franklin (SYD)
Buddy Franklin ($13.6m PlayON) is the obvious pick for Friday Night and should be the first player selected in everyone’s teams. The Swans midfield is far superior to the Blues, which will give more than enough opportunity for Franklin an co. up forward. Further, Carlton lack a defensive stopper who’s able to contain power forwards, which is a major factor in why they’ve conceded the most points of any team in the competition this year (1032). Buddy has also thrived against the Blues in recent times, in fact, the last time he played against them he bagged himself 10 goals… Lock.
Chance – Ben Ronke (SYD)
The player we encourage to take a chance on is Sydney’s Ben Ronke. For similar reasons as Franklin, we believe Ronke could be in for a big night himself. He’s the cheapest of the Swans forwards on PlayON ($8m) and has massive scoring potential, which we saw only a few weeks ago when he kicked 7 goals against the Hawks (also on a Friday Night). The Swans forwards will be licking their lips this Friday Night, so make sure you have a couple of them in your team!
Chump – Charlie Curnow (CARL)
For obvious reasons, Charlie Curnow is our Friday Night Chump. Although he’s been decent this season and has made big strides in his development, we believe Friday Night just won’t be his night. Unless there’s a huge upset, Curnow will be starved of opportunity from the outset. For $12.4m (PlayON), there’s plenty of better options for your team.
