NFL Week 6 Eagles at Giants Daily Fantasy Tips
Must Have - Odell Beckham Jr. (New York) Zach Ertz (Philadelphia)
One wide receiver and one tight end come into this this week's clash as our two must haves. The first is Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. After a slowish start to the season by his lofty standards, Beckham finally went nuts on the weekend, catching 8/14 targets for 131 yards and a touchdown. He also added a touchdown pass on a trick play to rack up a massive 35.38 points. The Eagles have been dreadful at stopping the pass this season and currently rank 30th in the league at fantasy points allowed to wide receivers. With limited selection at WR this week, Odell is a must have.
The tight end position is also very thin this Friday morning. The Giants tight ends have been extremely inconsistent so far this season with both Garret Dickerson and Scott Simonson having top scored at the position for their team in different games. Zach Ertz, however, has been extremely consistent, having racked up scores of at least 20 points in three of his four games and doing so without relying on catching touchdown passes. Carson Wentz loves throwing to Ertz and he should continue to be a focal point this Friday.
Sleepers - Corey Clement (Philadelphia) Eli Manning (New York)
Clement started the season as the Eagles third string running back behind Jay Ajayi and Darren Sproles. However, with Ajayi suffering a torn ACL in the Eagles game against Minnesota in Week 5 and Sproles still listed as questionable for the upcoming game with a hamstring injury, expect to see plenty of Corey Clement on Friday morning. Clement hasn't had a touch since week three but in that game he racked up 56 yards on 16 carries and added 19 receiving yards for 10.5 points. The Giants are also in the bottom half of the league rankings in points allowed to RB.
Eli Manning might not seem like a sleeper when there are only two (possibly) three QB's on offer on Friday morning. However, we expect the majority of people to go with Wentz this week as Manning has looked a little lacklustre to open the season. However, in the two games Manning played against the Eagles last season, he racked up 800 passing yards and 6 TD passes, and that was against a much better passing defence than he will be going up against Friday.
Stay Away - Saquon Barkley (New York) Nelson Agholor (Philadelphia)
The rookie sensation running back Saquon Barkley has been on an absolute tear in the fantasy world through the opening five games of the season. He has not failed to score 20 points in any game and currently maintains a scoring average of 24.4. While we think it's likely that he has a decent output again this week, the value might not be there at the lofty price tag, as the one thing that the Eagles have been good at so far this season is stopping the run. They currently allow the fifth fewest points to running backs in the league.
It's now clear that Nelson Agholor is largely dependant on Nick Foles throwing the ball to him. When the back up quarterback was playing for the Eagles in the first two weeks, Agholor racked up scores of 13.5 and 23 and was targeted 11 times per game. Since Carson Wentz came back into the side in Week 3, Agholor's targets per game have dropped to just seven and he has scores of just 6.4, 7.2 and 8.5 in the last three weeks. Unless Foles is somehow back in the line-up this Friday, I'd be steering well clear of Nelson.
