2018-19 NFL Daily Fantasy Tips: Week 16 Saturday Slate
No Thursday game in the NFL this weekend but in its place, football fans will be treated to a double header on Saturday! The Titans will host the Redskins in the early game of the day while the Ravens will face off against the Chargers later on.
DraftKings will be hosting a $800,000 feature tournament for the day’s action, with the winner set to clean up a whopping $150,000. We have our best daily fantasy tips for the major tournament below.
NFL Week 16 Saturday Daily Fantasy Tips
Must Have – Philip Rivers (Los Angeles) Derrick Henry (Tennessee)
Rivers might be coming up against arguably the best defence in the league, but on a day where the other three quarterbacks on offer are Lamar Jackson, Marcus Mariota and Josh Johnson, he is the obvious choice. Rivers threw two interceptions against the Chiefs in Week 15 but still managed to rack up a respectable score of 23.52 with 313 passing yards and two touchdowns. Averages 21.3 points so far this season and seems the best value for money at the QB position on Saturday.
Derrick Henry has been playing like a man possessed over the past few weeks. He backed up a ridiculous 50.8-point performance in Week 14 with a 33.24-point game on the weekend against the Giants. Henry rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns in the Titans win and has a good matchup against the Redskins on Saturday. Washington are ranked 23rd in the league in points allowed to the rush.
Sleepers – Tyrell Williams (Los Angeles) Vernon Davis (Washington)
Usually the Chargers third string wide receiver, Williams got a big bump in production last weekend when Keenan Allen went out of the game with injury. Williams scored 13.1 points against the Chiefs, his highest score since Week 7 against the Titans. Allen is listed a game time decision for the game against the Ravens but looks likely to miss at least this game. Williams should have another solid outing as Rivers number two target.
With starting tight end Jordan Reed likely to miss his second game in a row with injury, Redskins backup Vernon Davis will likely be thrown into the starting lineup once again. Davis was targeted just three times last weekend against Jacksonville but with Reed set to miss another game with an ankle injury, Davis could be good value here amongst a light tight end selection.
Stay Away – Josh Johnson (Washington) Austin Ekeler (Los Angeles)
Johnson was thrust into the starter's role at Washington in Week 14 and has had two decent games of 25.3 and 14.94 points. However, we are opting to stay away from Johnson this weekend as he has a tough matchup against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have allowed the 3rd fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks in 2018 and are ranked in the top ten in both passing yards allowed per game and passing touchdowns allowed. Johnson might seem like the value option at QB this week but relatively easy matchups against the Giants and Jags might have inflated his numbers.
Ekeler has been great for the Chargers since Melvin Gordon went out with injury a few weeks ago but has since suffered an injury of his own. With Gordon coming back into the side this weekend, even if Ekeler does recover from his neck injury in time for Saturday’s game, it’s unlikely that he’ll see many snaps.
